Arizona Volvo Day Car Show

Phoenix, AZ

Judging by all people attending the Show

Look at the details. Call it as you see it. Do not be critical be kind but assertive. Do not judge like it is a Duesenberg at Pebble Beach. Car should be clean inside and outside like on the show room floor except for display items used. Tool kit, tire jack, owner’s manual, and fire extinguisher should all be displayed. Give consideration to mileage between cars in a class. Give consideration for depth of modifications between cars in a class.

Definition of stock and modified classes

Stock class is as it would have been delivered including any and all options whether factory or dealer installed. Shall have a Volvo battery as delivered but tire brand doesn’t matter.

May have up to 3 mild modifications like wheels, seat covers, and other after market items.

Modified class is where the car has considerable changes from stock. Bodywork and paint color, engine changes like carburetor or newer fuel injection, Turbo, and any after-market performance improvements. Suspension changes. Interior changes.

Masters class is for both stock and modified classes where the automobile has won First Place three or more times at any Volvo club national or regional meet.

Judging Considerations

There will be a 1st 2nd 3rd place in each class in Stock and Modified, Road Warrior, High Mileage, and Golden Rod that is for technical innovation.

2 cars in a class only 1st place, 3 & 4 in a class only 1st & 2nd place, 5 in a class all 3 place's.

Tie breakers in order mileage, mfg. year, and a group of 3 judges to determine.

Body styles in a class may be separated if a meet attendance warrants.
